Christmas for Sale
It’s the time of the year again; and every year it seems to begin earlier and earlier. We are no longer shocked to hear christmas carols in September, or to see lanterns and christmas tree being sold in the stores. The children on the street have songs about the birth of our savior, and sing it on the road. They don’t mind if it is danger as long as they receive a coin from their caroling. Every christmas you have santa claus, symbol of goodwills and generosity, selling softdrinks and lots of foods. But the children on the street doesn’t have any food and a family to lean on. They celebrate their christmas with other beggar. Christmas is the time that the family celebrate it together and feel the spirit of christmas. For the street child they celebrate it alone and they don’t know what is the meaning of christmas. They will do anything to live and to survive in this world.
Much of the power of christmas lies in it being a shared experience, in several senses of the word. Traditionally, it is a time spent with family, friends and loved ones. Having exchange gifts and family get together. But christmas is also a shared experience in that it is a major yearly event in the lives of Filipinos everywhere. It also celebrate by all the people around the world. We may celebrate in different ways, and with different personal habits and traditions. But this time of year, and this common experience, connects us with others. We celebrate it together and we shared timed to each other. The true spirit of christmas is togetherness with humanity. It connects us as a nation and as a world.
Christmas is for everyone, it is the time to give love on christmas day. The time of giving gifts and sharing of what we have to others. Sharing by means of helping children on the street. There’s a lot of ways on how we can help to other people. We let them feel the spirit of christmas. This children needs us, our care and love for them is the only way to let them feel that they are not alone. Being compassionate and take care of all the people those in need is a very good attitude that we shared to everyone. Always remember it is better to give than to receive. Christmas is for all of us, offered it or shared it to everyone. Christmas for sale, let them feel the true spirit of christmas.
